VEGFR Inhibitors
Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) inhibitors are a class of compounds that block signaling through VEGF receptor tyrosine kinases. VEGFR plays a central role in angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, which is a critical process in tumor growth and progression. By mediating recruitment of circulating endothelial precursor cells and supporting the survival of immature tumor-associated vasculature, VEGFR signaling sustains the blood supply that tumors require for continued growth. Inhibition of this pathway prevents vessel development and downstream activation, thereby suppressing angiogenesis and limiting tumor expansion.
