Strontium nitrate can be used as one of the starting materials for the preparation of calcium substituted hexagonal strontium nanoparticles and strontium ferrite (SrFe12O19) particles by chemical coprecipitation. The product can also be used to synthesize α - and β - (sr0.97eu0.03) 2sio4 for near ultraviolet light emitting diodes.
